SWARM: NATURE'S INCREDIBLE INVASIONS

Swarm: Nature's Incredible Invasions, narrated by David Tennant, was two, hour long, documentaries revealing the awe-inspiring world of animal swarms.

The series was produced by John Downer Productions, Robert Philley and Philip Dalton producers.  The company also produced Polar Bear– Spy On Ice, Earthflight  and Penguins - Spy in the Huddle, that were also narrated by David.

The first one was called When Worlds Collide, airing January 4, 2009 and the second program, One Million Heads, One Beautiful Mind, aired January 11, 2009. Both shows aired at 9:00 pm on BBC One.

        When Worlds Collide

"This documentary discovers what happens when super swarms invade people's lives and, using the latest camera techniques, thy go into the heart of the swarm to reveal how the creatures therein view our world.


 

Real-life footage from camcorders and mobile phones captures the amazing impact they can have. Killer bees mount an attack on an international football match in Costa Rica; in the US the Illinois River boils with leaping silver carp, an alien species that has hijacked the river, smashing into boats and injuring people.

DVD RELEASE

The documentary was released on August 19, 2010 on Blu-Ray and on January 1, 2011 on DVD in The Netherlands making it a Region 2 release. 

The documentary has David Tennant's original narration and is sub-titled in Dutch.
