SHREK: ONCE UPON A TIME

Shrek: Once Upon a Time, looks at the success story behind the four Shrek films.

It's been 10 years since Shrek emerged from the bog and became one of the most recognisable cartoon characters of all time.

The documentary, narrated by David Tennant, charts the success of the ogre and the advances that were made in the world of animation through his development.

Included are interviews with the main cast, Cameron Diaz, (Princess Fiona), Antonio Banderas (Puss In Boots), Jennifer Saunders (the Fairy Godmother) and, Mike Myers, who voices Shrek in his peculiar, Americanised Scottish accent.


The hour long programme aired on BBC 3 from 9-10 pm on December 23, 2011.


The Guardian listed the programme as one of the TV highlights for the week 12/19/2011 .

Tennant to narrate an orgre's tale

"Former Dr Who David Tennant is lined up for a green Christmas.

The Scots actor will be narrating Shrek: Once Upon A Time, a look back at the animated series of films centred on a green ogre.

The show is decribed as "a celebratory look at how an ogre with a Scottish accent single-handedly changed the face of animation".

The programme will be shown on BBC3 at 9pm on December 23
