CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG AND THE RACE AGAINST TIME
The sequels were commissioned by Ian Fleming's family, the first book in the series, written by Frank Cottrell Boyce, was Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Flies Again!
The hardcover edition was released on September 12, 2012 in the UK and on March 13, 2013 in the US.
David Tennant was chosen, also
by the Fleming family, to be the narrator for the audio version of the
first book and it was announced on January 7, 2013 that David had finished recording Race Against Time. The release date should be by the end of 2013.
But this is no theme park -- a very real and very hungry T. rex is charging them! Thanks to Dad’s inadvertent yanking of Chitty’s "Chronojuster" lever, the spirited car has ushered them back to prehistoric times, where the family (and especially Baby Harry) make a narrow escape.
But Chitty has a mind of her own, and the Tootings will get an unexpected tour of exciting times and places from Prohibition-era New York (where Chitty wants to compete in the famous Prix d’Esmerelda’s Birthday Cake race) to the lost city of El Dorado and back again, with misadventures and surprise stowaways along the way.

Sound House Studios where the book was recorded sent out a tweet on January 10, 2013 to show that the book was ready to go.

UPDATE!

"The Tootings are stuck in 1966! Somebody’s stolen Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and left them behind. But that’s not their biggest problem. Their biggest problem is that Little Harry’s been kidnapped by whoever nicked their magical car.
There’s only one solution. The Tootings must find the Potts – the family that originally built Chitty.
