Synopsis: "In his Alpine base, Blofeld is developing biological weapons that will devastate Britain. Unaware of the danger, James Bond is about to get married to Teresa di Vicenzo, the daughter of a Corsican Mafioso. But then he is sent to Switzerland. Bond’s marriage and Blofeld’s schemes disintegrate in a blizzard of gunfire and high explosive from which neither man emerges the victor."
"A Scottish actor, who reads in an English accent and then has to pretend to be Scottish. This audiobook may sound as convoluted as a Bond novel, but that’s just part of what makes On Her Majesty’s Secret Service a superb listen with David Tennant.
There’s also one of the world’s master criminals, a remarkably beautiful girl, and plenty of wild and exciting chases on the Swiss mountains.
However, to infiltrate Blofeld’s lair, Bond has to impersonate a Scottish peer (though it’s not the first time we’ve experienced a Scottish Bond). But Tennant’s take on Blofeld is something else. This major villain’s silky voice makes him sound even more dangerous and deadly.
Tennant reads this audiobook with humour and pathos, and at a breathless pace when danger occurs." - taken from AudioGo Facebook page
