DR. FINLAY: THE FURTHER ADVENTURES OF A BLACK BAG
This series about Dr. Finlay was broadcast on BBC Radio 4 in six episodes in October/November 2002. The stories are based on the book Country Doctor by A.J. Cronin. The novella was made into a television show, Dr. Finlay's Casebook, broadcast on the BBC from 1962 - 1971.
In 1970-1978 BBC Radio 4 also broadcast Dr. Finlay's Casebook using some of the same actors as the television show. Both the TV series and the first radio series were set in the town of Tannochbrae, but the new radio series in 2001 was set in the town of Levenford, which was Cronin's original location in the books.
The new series was produced in Bristol and dramatised by Sue Rodwell.
David Tennant appeared in two of the six episodes in the 2001 series, Dr. Finlay: Adventures of a Black Bag and he appeared in one* of the 30 minute episodes in this series.
