HEMLOCK AND AFTER

Hemlock and After was transmitted, in two parts, as part of BBC Radio 4's Classic Serial series. Each episode is 60 minutes in length and was directed by Chris Wallace.  This was a Watershed Production, as is The Amaing Maurice which also features David Tennant.

The original novel was written by Angus Wilson and the play was dramatised for radio by Michelene Wardor.  The first part went out on November 8, 1998 and part two on the next Sunday, November 15, 1998 at 3:00 pm

Synopsis: Part 1. Bernard's triumph at setting up a writer's centre is soon clouded by difficulties in his personal life.

Part 2. Bernard's heart attack causes a re-evaluation of his life which has interesting consequences at the grand opening.
